A litigation boutique founded around the philosophy of comprehensive and cost-effective service for entrepreneurs and businesses, Scali Rasmussen is celebrating its first full decade in business.

The Los Angeles-based law firm was launched in 2013 by Managing Shareholder Christian Scali, who was joined a year later by fellow named Shareholder Halbert Rasmussen. The firm has flourished over the decade, expanding its team of expert litigators and practice specialists with shareholders like John P. Swenson and Jeffrey W. Erdman and principals Colleen O’Brien, Julie S. Pearson, Jasmin Bhandari, and Eric P. Weiss, among others.Scali said in a statement that, as a result of the hard work of the team over the past decade, Scali Rasmussen consistently achieves exceptional results for clients in the automotive, retail, and hospitality industries among a wide variety of others.

“Bert and I are so thankful for such an amazing team and supportive clients and friends. It was really amazing to share this milestone with them,” said Scali. “The past ten years went by in the blink of an eye, and we look forward to contributing to our client’s continued success.”

The firm has supported a wide range of philanthropic efforts over the years, including the funding of a scholarship for minority law students founded by Southwestern’s Black Law Students Association and a pro-bono effort spearheaded by Swenson and Erdman to represent a class of unlawfully displaced Santa Monica residents, for which they received honors from the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles.

Members have even launched their own entrepreneurial endeavors, including the 2023 opening of Villa Ardore, a stone farmhouse deep in the rolling villas of Tuscany’s wine country that was built around the notion of “where everyone has the luxury to be who they are.”

“What started as a passion project for myself and my husband Stephen has become a place for team building retreats for our firm, a base from which our international clients can be served, and a welcoming abode for our clients looking to travel to Italy,” said Scali. “Villa Ardore has even provided a way for our firm to support a number of Los Angeles based charities, including the Children’s Burn Foundation and the Give-Mentor-Love Foundation.”
